Saving Bedtime with LightHeaded Beds & a Giveaway!

Every mom I know has one parenting routine that makes them extra crazy.  Some of my friends can’t stand packing lunches for school.  Others can’t handle bath time.  Some aren’t fans of carpooling.

For me, it’s bedtime.

By the time bedtime rolls around I am done.  Done.  I am exhausted and frustrated and the constant requests for water, one more book, and just an extra few minutes in bed because they are “scared” can put me right over the edge.  I realize that these moments are fleeting and I absolutely do NOT want to rush their childhood, but I did need to find a way to make bedtime a relaxing, easy time for all of us.  I wanted to be able to read my kids a book, cuddle and kiss them for a few minutes, and then turn the light out and have some me time.  Until the next morning.  Without interruption.

While I was planning how I wanted to redecorate my kids’ rooms, I was super conscious of this.  I wanted to find a bed that they would want to stay in.  I looked high and low – beds with lofts, beds with slides, beds that had their favorite characters painted on, etc.  While some of these were cute, they weren’t what I wanted.  I wanted my kids to love their new beds for years to come, not just while they were obsessed with princesses or pirates or whatever the trend was that month, and I’m fairly certain my teenager wouldn’t want a firehouse or princess castle under his or her bed.

When I stumbled upon LightHeaded Beds I knew immediately that this was the bed I wanted!

LightHeaded Beds are gorgeous.  They are made with heirloom quality construction using solid wood and real wood veneers.  The finish is done with a multi-step process that is both durable and non-toxic.  We chose the Shaker Twin Bed in the Chocolate finish for my sons room (pictured above). When our bed arrived it was packaged well and my husband was easily able to assemble it in less than 30 minutes.  (With no frustration or four letter words!)
The headboard contains a large 12V LED screen that illuminates so that your child can read or do a quiet activity, and feel safe from the dark.  The best part is that the light works with a remote control and has multiple settings and options.  They can also be personalized with different “HeadLight” Images like nature scenes, Disney-Marvel characters (Including FROZEN characters!!), and more.

My daughter is extremely jealous of her brother's bed - mostly because of this HeadLight!

 And this one...

When my son first saw his new bed he was so excited that he immediately jumped in and didn’t want to get out.  Now, when I tell him it’s bedtime he runs in his room grabs the remote and turns on his “HeadLight”.  At this point he has a custom made HeadLight Image featuring a character from Minecraft that we made using LightHeaded Beds’ Create Your Own Image feature.  You can even upload a favorite photo or scan and use your child’s art!  Every bed comes with one HeadLight Image and a gift coupon to purchase another when your bed arrives to personalize the bed. While I know he is obsessed with Minecraft for the moment, I also know it won’t last.  The easy to switch HeadLights, which can be stored in the footboard, will make it easy for the bed to grow with him.  (See image below)

Our (meaning my and my husband’s) favorite feature is the fade-to-off timer.  Each night when we tuck our son in we allow him to read or look at books quietly.  We set the timer to 30 minutes fade-to-off, and without fail he is asleep by the time the light goes out.  I may be jinxing myself right now, but this has been the case EVERY SINGLE NIGHT since we received the bed.

Another fabulous feature is that the bed will work with or without a box spring and the side rails are adjustable.  Plus, you can choose to purchase under bed storage or a trundle bed to make it even more functional.

My son has a wish list going of all the HeadLights he’d like to purchase, and at only about $20 a piece, I’m happy to comply.  It’s an easy, quick way to refresh the look of his room and it makes him excited for bedtime.  Win, win.  It is seriously the first thing he wants to show his friends when they visit.

Are you intrigued yet?  Ready to buy one for your little one?  Well you are in luck!  We have a coupon code just for you!  You can save 20% on your purchase of a bed, trundle or storage using the code LHBODIZ at checkout! (Valid 8/22/14 - 9/22/14)

More amazing news – The super generous people at LightHeaded Beds want to give one of you your own Riviera Twin Bed!!!  It’s easy-peasy to enter – just use our Rafflecopter widget below!  Good luck!
